France v
Senegal
13:00 ET
3pm kickoff, gates open at 11:00. The New Jersey Turnpike is already backed up by noon on summer Sundays.
West Village
Bleecker and Hudson Streets for France fans. Pastis terrace is the pre-match institution.
Harlem
116th St between Lenox and 5th Ave fills with Senegal support by midday. Africa Kine doesn't take reservations.
Jersey City
Grove St area puts you on the PATH to 33rd, then Penn Station for NJ Transit. Skip the Manhattan hotel markup.
The transit reality.
MetLife has no direct subway service. Every fan arrives by NJ Transit, bus, rideshare, or car — which means the post-match window is brutal without a plan. Here's what actually works.
The train platform at Secaucus fills in 8 minutes after the final whistle. Walk to the far end before the crowd moves.
NJ TRANSIT TRAIN
Round-trip game-day special from Penn Station (Manhattan) via Secaucus. Trains run every 20 min from 3 hours before kickoff. Platform fills by 15:15 — buy in advance.
Last train back: ~21:30 ET
DIRECT BUS
Port Authority Bus Terminal (42nd St) to stadium. Direct, no transfer. Departs every 30 min from 4 hours before kickoff. Return buses run until 2 hours post-match.
Boarding: Bays 69–72
CAR / RIDESHARE
Parking lots fill by 2 hours before kickoff. Uber/Lyft surge to $80–120 post-match. The Uber zone is 0.4 miles from Gate A — walk, don't queue at the entrance.
Designated pickup: Lot D
Two countries, two boroughs.
West Village
French fans have turned lower Manhattan into a second Paris for this match. The West Village is walkable from the West 4th Street A/C/E and Christopher Street 1 train. The concentration of French bistros and wine bars here is unmatched outside of France.
Spots: Pastis (Little W 12th, Meatpacking) for the terrace crowd. Balthazar (Spring St, SoHo) for those who booked two weeks out. Claudette (Greenwich Village) does French-North African cooking that fits the matchup perfectly. Wine bars on Hudson St for the afternoon crowd.
A/C/E to 14th St · Port Auth bus 40 min to stadium
116th Street, Harlem
The stretch of West 116th Street between 5th Avenue and Lenox Avenue is New York's Little Senegal. The Senegalese diaspora here is one of the largest on the East Coast, and they know how to throw a matchday. Flags go up by 10:00. The neighborhood is festive, not chaotic.
Spots: Africa Kine (W 116th St) has been feeding the diaspora since 1995 — cash only, arrive before noon. Teranga (Lenox Ave) is Pierre Thiam's more modern take on West African cooking. The hookah lounges on 116th stay busy all day.

The menu sits exactly at the intersection of this matchup — French technique, North African spice. The lamb merguez and the couscous royale are both excellent. Sunny terrace out front.

The post-match reality.
The match ends around 17:00 ET. Unlike the evening fixtures, this is civilized — the trains aren't crushed, the rideshare surge is modest, and the city is still alive when you get back.
The practical move: take the 17:45 NJ Transit back to Penn Station, then continue to wherever the evening takes you. The Ironbound in Newark is open, Harlem is mid-afternoon, Hoboken has the rest of Sunday ahead.
LATE-NIGHT OPTIONS
Back to the West Village
The bistros and bars on Bleecker and Hudson are busy well into the evening. No reservation needed after 18:00 — the pre-theatre crowd has cleared.
Harlem
116th Street continues well past 18:00. The neighborhood is celebrating regardless of result.
Hoboken waterfront
PATH from 33rd Street. The Washington Street bar scene is accessible without a long subway ride, and the Manhattan skyline from the pier is worth the detour.
Jersey City — Grove St
Grove Street's restaurant strip stays busy until late. Exchange Place has a view that rivals Hoboken at half the crowd density.
