Three tiers, three different calculations. Proximity wins if you want the full stadium-weekend experience. Jersey City and Hoboken split the difference — reasonable prices, genuine Manhattan access via PATH. Manhattan itself is only worth it if you're combining the match with several days in the city.
Secaucus &
Meadowlands
The practical choice. You're within a short drive or shuttle of the stadium, and the NJ Transit Secaucus Junction stop connects you to Penn Station in under 15 minutes. These hotels fill months out for Final week — book early or pay significantly above rack rate on resale.
Sheraton Meadowlands
The closest full-service hotel. Shuttle to stadium during tournament. Fill rate for the Final week is 100% — book months in advance.
Element Secaucus
Extended-stay format with kitchen in every room. Seven-minute walk to Secaucus Junction — NJT to Penn in 15 minutes from there.
Homewood Suites Secaucus
Suite format with daily breakfast included. Family-friendly and genuinely good value if you book early enough.
Courtyard Secaucus Meadowlands
The practical choice. Reliable, not exciting. Walkable to Secaucus Junction for the NJT connection to Penn.
Jersey City &
Hoboken
The smart play for fans staying multiple nights. PATH train to 33rd Street takes 12 minutes from most Jersey City stops. The Hoboken NJ Transit line connects directly to Secaucus Junction. Skyline views cost extra; the transit access is free regardless of floor.
Hyatt Regency Jersey City
Manhattan skyline views from every room on the river-facing side. PATH to 33rd Street in 12 minutes. The most sensible splurge in this tier.
Marriott Jersey City
Newport district. Newport PATH stop is three minutes on foot. Lobby bar gets lively after matches — the crowd self-selects.
W Hoboken
The style play of this tier. Rooftop bar with Manhattan views. Hoboken NJ Transit direct to Secaucus Junction in 12 minutes.
Canopy by Hilton Jersey City Arts District
Newer, smaller, well-located. Grove Street PATH stop is five minutes on foot. Local coffee in the lobby is actually good.
Residence Inn Jersey City
Studio suites with full kitchen and PATH access. The right choice for fans attending multiple matches across the tournament.
Manhattan
More expensive, further from the stadium, but unbeatable if you're spending time in the city beyond match days. Penn Station puts you on NJT in 35 minutes door-to-gate. The math only works if you're in Manhattan for more than one night.
citizenM New York Times Square
The smartest Manhattan choice. Small rooms, but NJT to stadium in 35 minutes door-to-gate. Rooftop bar for the night-before crowd.
Arlo Midtown
West 38th Street; Penn Station is eight minutes on foot. Rooftop bar with open-air terrace. Genuinely good value for a Midtown location.
The Westin New York Times Square
The full-service classic if your budget is uncapped. Location is unbeatable for transit. Book early — this one fills fast in tournament weeks.
Hotel Edison
On 47th, one block from Penn. The no-nonsense legacy hotel choice. Not glamorous, completely functional. The best price-per-transit-access ratio in Manhattan.
What to avoid.
Any hotel marketing itself as 'near MetLife Stadium' along Route 46 or the Turnpike service area corridor should be viewed skeptically. These properties are car-dependent, charge 3–4× normal rates during tournament week, and offer nothing in transit advantage over Secaucus — which is the same distance but has an actual train. The stadium-adjacent hotel market is legitimately one of the worst value propositions in the region during tournament weeks. Book early at the above, or book Manhattan and commute in.
